ARTIST SESSIONS - WEEK OF JUNE 22 - 2 p.m.

This week is the last week we will be hosting typical Artist Sessions. Stay tuned for an announcement next week regarding future online opportunities for students.
However, it will be anything BUT typical because we have sessions with four members from the amazing TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. They are going to show us play-throughs of their song "Wizards in Winter" and live Q&A - don't miss it!
PLUS we are kicking off a SOR-Exclusive TSO Play-Along Contest where a grand prize winner will receive a four-pack of tickets to a future TSO performance plus online recognition from the band!

Al Pitrelli - Tuesday, June 23 at 2 p.m.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra's music director/guitarist has made a name for himself touring for a myriad of artists through the years all, of which has led up to his work with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO). After leaving Berklee School of Music in Boston in the early 80s, Al’s versatility led to recording and touring work with musicians and groups such as Alice Cooper, Asia, Megadeth, as well as numerous others. In the mid-90’s he joined the progressive rock group Savatage where he began working with producer Paul O’Neill. O’Neill’s vision of creating a new type of band that would do anything to allow their music to have the maximum impact on the listener led to the eventual formation of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Pitrelli’s edgy playing and vast musical lexicon merge perfectly with TSO’s passion and intensity.

Jeff Plate - Wednesday, June 24 - 2 p.m.
Born in the Upstate Finger Lakes Region of NY - Jeff began drumming at 11 years old. Influenced by the sounds and sights of KISS, Jeff began playing locally at the age of 17- in 1994 he became the drummer for Progressive Metal band Savatage and has been drumming for Trans-Siberian Orchestra since their formation. Additionally Jeff has performed with Metal Church, his project Machines of Grace and recorded with several nationally-recognized artists.
Tony Dickinson
Tony Dickinson is the bass guitar player for TSO East, as well as SOTO, and multi-instrumentalist for SYLVA and The Tiberian Sons. He was formerly an instructor and music director at the Colorado School of Rock locations in Broomfield and Boulder from 2012-2016. His favorite bass players include Flea, John Myung, Henrik Linder, & Victor Wooten.

Derek Wieland - Thursday, June 25 2 p.m.
Music director/keyboardist of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Derek Wieland studied at the Juilliard School under György Sándor. Derek has performed with the Slovak Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Long Island Philharmonic and the String Orchestra of New York City at Lincoln Center. Derek was a faculty member and performer at the Puigcerdà Music Festival in Barcelona (2018).
Derek toured with Andrew WK, appearing at the Summer Sonic Music Festival in Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul and Busan (2005). More recently Derek was composer for Shakespeare in the Park’s Othello at the Delacorte Theatre (2018). In 2019, Derek contributed orchestration and keyboards to Al Di Meola’s latest album “Across the Universe.”
